So basically, a DevOps engineer needs to know basic coding (ranges from programming languages, database query languages, scripting languages, etc. etc.,). Extensive knowledge of coding is only required if you aspire to be a developer.
So what is a DevOps engineer?
Simply put, he/she is responsible to assist in managing the pipeline for the SDLC (software development life cycle).
